Headteacher's Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Epping St. John's school website.  Here, you will find a wealth of information about the school and I have no doubt that you will be impressed by the school's commitment, being a centre of opportunity and achievement for the young people of Epping and the surrounding areas.
Students and staff who come to Epping St. John's on a daily basis can enjoy and benefit from some of the best facilities in the county of Essex.  A brand new school with state-of-the-art technology and first rate, specialist facilities was opened in September 2013.  Since then, the new Year 7 intakes have been over-subscribed and, in September 2015, the school welcomed students into a Sixth Form for the first time in 26 years.
As Headteacher I am clear that all young people can be successful at school if they have an appropriate curriculum, are taught well and give of their best.  This will happen within a setting where there are high expectations of behaviour, positive relationships between individuals and a wide range of opportunities for students to develop through involvement in sport, the arts and other enrichment activities.
I am also conscious of the expectations of the school by the local community and, to this end, I am committed to strengthening ties within our natural catchment area of primary schools and beyond.  So many young people have come through the school in recent years and have progressed to achieve great things at university or with high quality employers locally and nationally.  The good news of these achievements deserves to be broadcast widely and I trust this website contributes to this process.
Students and staff are proud of their new school.  Students are well cared for and they clearly benefit from the priority given to ensuring their social, moral, spiritual and cultural development.  Staff work very hard and are committed to achieving standards that can only take Epping St. John's School from strength to strength.
If you are a parent, a student or, perhaps, a prospective employer, I hope you will enjoy using this site.  I trust, also, that  if you are impressed by what you read, you will want to be part of the future of Epping St. John's!
